About
Queen Ethelburga’s College is a luxurious boarding school set in 100 acres of beautifully kept grounds. The school is built around a traditional manor house but everything about the school is completely modern and it boasts accommodation and facilities that most hotels cannot match e.g. all en-suite rooms with satellite TV, telephones and games consoles.
QE is a short drive to the historic city of York, with its beautiful cathedral, castle walls and narrow medieval shopping streets. York is also home to some of the most interesting museums in England. It’s the perfect centre to host our Explorer Programme.
EXPLORER PROGRAMME
Queen Ethelburga’s is the perfect base to visit Yorkshire and its lovely towns and cities. The Explorer programme includes two half-day excursions each week – one into York so that students can visit its many attractions and one of the local towns. At the weekend we have full day excursions which may include trips to Manchester and Liverpool - northern England’s cultural capitals – visiting the hometowns of Manchester United or The Beatles!
