About

Clifton College is a co-educational independent boarding and day school in the heart of Bristol city and situated in the South West England, only a 1.5-hour train journey west from London Heathrow airport.

Academic

The College offers academic excellence, state-of-the-art facilities and expert staff who deliver the learning and development, at the same time, providing a richly diverse school environment. It's representative of the real world, at one with the vibrant local community and positioned in the heart of the city, where creativity and commerce are in full view.

Wellbeing

Staff create a caring and supportive atmosphere to help make each child feel safe and secure.  The House and Tutorial systems are the formal structures for looking after the pupils, but further support comes from informal sources of spiritual and social guidance.

Clifton believe kindness, tolerance, good manners and honesty are all vitally important in the life of our community, and they aim to instil virtues and values that pupils will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Boarding

Both flexi-boarding and full-time boarding are available. This ranges from seven nights per week for full boarders and up to four nights per week for day boarders.

Boarders are encouraged to take part in weekend activities and trips organised by their House or the College, and full boarders may visit their parents or guardians on a weekend unless they have commitments to fulfil.

Extra-curricular

Clifton College offers a wide variety of clubs and activities, and all children are encouraged to participate fully in the wide range of available activities to find something they enjoy. For example, playing water polo or rowing, attending society meetings or acting, singing or performing in a music ensemble.
