About

Kingswood School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school for pupils, with boarding from the age of 7. It offers an inclusive community, a sense of responsibility and service.  and a holistic education to children. This is all set against the backdrop of one of the UK’s most beautiful cities known for its natural hot springs and 18th-century Georgian architecture.

Academic

Celebrating the transformative power of a Kingswood Education, we have a forward-thinking approach to education. In our 275th Anniversary year and awarded a double “Excellent” in our Inspection Report in 2022, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum where academic results are consistently excellent.

Wellbeing

Pastoral Care is central to everything we do at Kingswood and our dedicated House Parents and tutors ensure that boarders receive the highest levels of Pastoral Care and security within a nurturing, home-away-from-home environment. We are mindful that this this may be the first time away from home but parents can be safe in the knowledge that their children are surrounded by friends and looked after by a friendly and experienced staff.

Boarding

Our boarders join us in Years 7 to 13 and come from all over the world, although the majority are full boarders and from the UK. The fantastic mix of different backgrounds makes the Kingswood boarding experience so special, and an ideal preparation for life outside of school. The support of our dedicated staff, whether teachers or residential house parents, helps our pupils to ignite their potential as they are always on hand to offer assistance, guidance and encouragement, or even just a listening ear.

Extra-curricular

Kingswood is widely recognised as one of the top schools for sport in the South-West, with students competing at both national and international levels. With an extensive co-curricular programme offering over 100 activities a week and a belief that every individual has talents to be discovered and nurtured, our pupils thrive so that they are ready for the challenges of life at university and beyond.
