The Ghana Scholarships Secretariat was established in 1960 as an extra- ministerial body under the Office of the President mandated to administer all government scholarships both locally and abroad.
Its main programmes and activities fall under the thematic area;
Human Resource Development, Employment and Productivity under the Ghana Shared Growth and Development Agenda (GSGDA) and Goal 4 of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) specifically addressing;


  • Provision of quality education
  • Human Capital Development, Productivity and Labour Relations, thus providing for the manpower needs of the country.

The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) is a public trust set up by an Act of Parliament in the year 2000. Its core mandate is to provide funding to supplement government effort for the provision of educational infrastructure and facilities within the public sector from the pre-tertiary to the tertiary level.

The GNPC Foundation is the Corporate Social Investment arm of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) dedicated to impacting on the lives people and communities within the production enclave of the Corporation in the Western Region, Votaian Basin and in Ghana at large through community and social intervention programs.
