Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit is a Catholic university, founded by members of the Spiritan Congregation, and sustained through a partnership of laity and religious. One of the nation's top Catholic universities and founded 140 years ago, Duquesne University is the only Spiritan institution of higher education in the United States.

The University has nine schools offering degree programs at the baccalaureate, professional, masters and doctoral levels. Students attain a first-rate education, building close relationships with professors and participating in exciting research projects and internships. At the University, students will learn from teacher-scholars who provide an excellent classroom experience and also produce some of the most important research in their fields. They will benefit from a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio and an academic experience hallmarked by personal attention from an award-winning faculty. In fact, almost half of all classes have 20 or fewer students, which means students will have plenty of opportunities for direct interaction with their professors.

Students can be a part of more than 250 recognized student organizations at Duquesne. These organizations represent the vast interests of student body and interests may include academic, social, recreational, service, or religious needs.

Located adjacent to downtown Pittsburgh, Duquesne University’s modern hilltop campus is readily accessible to the business, entertainment and shopping centers of the city, while still offering students the privacy and peace of its own self-enclosed site. Long noted as one of the world’s great corporate centers, Pittsburgh combines the features of urban living with many of the charms and personal characteristics of a much smaller town.
