About

Badminton School is an all-girls boarding and day school in the leafy suburb of Westbury-on-Trym in the University City of Bristol, established in 1858. It prides itself on being a pioneering school which has remained at the forefront of offering girls the highest standard of education and the preparation of its students for life after school, living and working in a global society. Badminton offers an education which nurtures intellectual curiosity while being challenging and fun. The international mindset of the school aims to create an awareness of the needs and concerns of society at local, national and global levels. Badmintonians leave the school as curious, confident and courteous individuals.

Academic

Badminton School’s academic results are consistently outstanding. In the latest published Sunday Times “Parent Power” report, Badminton was once again in the top 20 Independent Schools for girls in the country and was ranked eighth best Independent School of any type in the south west of the UK. Last three years’ results are attached.

Wellbeing

We pride ourselves on our outstanding pastoral care, offering a warm, kind, “home from home” environment for girls in our care. We understand the importance of providing excellent pastoral care and being a small school, we are a close-knit community where everyone knows everyone. The welfare of the girls is at the heart of everything we do.

Boarding

Boarders enjoy the independence of living away from home alongside the comfort that comes from being with a community of International friends.
There are 3 Boarding Houses:
Bartlett for Years 5-8
Sanderson for Years 9-11
Sixth Form Centre for the Lower and Upper Sixth

Extra-curricular

Badminton provides a huge range of co-curricular clubs and activities for all pupils and students ranging from art to chess to public speaking club, to name just a few. After lessons have finished for the day and at weekends boarders can do clubs, sports, music practice and voluntary work, which are all part of life at Badminton and there is also plenty of time just to relax and be with friends.
