Founded in 1935, Hofstra University can help students get where they want to go, with small classes, dedicated faculty and a beautiful, energized campus, plus all the opportunities of New York City within easy reach. Students can find their future by choosing from about 160 undergraduate programs and about 165 graduate programs, in Liberal Arts and Sciences, Business, Communication, Education, Health Sciences and Human Services, Engineering and Applied Science and Honors studies, as well as a School of Law and School of Medicine. The student-faculty ratio of 13 to 1 and a priority on teaching excellence ensures students are part of creating their own success.

At Hofstra, students will have all the resources they need from excellent library resources with extensive online and print collections, state-of-the-art classrooms, learning and laboratory facilities, and extensive wired and wireless Internet access, including the only Internet2 connection among private colleges on Long Island. Clubs and organizations are a great way for students to get involved and develop leadership skills. OSLE supports student club initiatives and works to aide in the club’s success. It oversees the Student Government Association and approximately 200 undergraduates, fraternal, and graduate clubs and organizations, advised by various departments.

A diverse mix of cultural, social, athletic and recreational activities delivers the full college experience. The university offers students the opportunity to live and learn on its beautiful, 240-acre campus on Long Island and have easy access to the academic, cultural and career opportunities in the New York City metropolitan area. The campus is a nationally recognized arboretum, making it one of the most beautiful destinations on Long Island to enjoy a walk outdoors.

Hofstra is a nationally ranked and recognized private university in Hempstead, New York, just 25 miles east of New York City. It is the only school ever chosen to host three consecutive U.S. presidential debates (2008, 2012 and 2016) and is among only three schools in the New York metropolitan area with colleges of law, medicine and engineering.
