See the list of practical, multidisciplinary courses and look out for new courses such as the Business of Film MA, delivered with Westminster's industry partner, the BFI (British Film Institute), an MA in Global Development and two new online courses Management MA and TESOL MA.

The University of Westminster continues to invest heavily in campus and facilities refurbishments to provide vibrant and state-of-the-art campuses for its students.

Department structure

Department structure

Westminster offers a variety of postgraduate and undergraduate courses through its three colleges, which are each comprised of four schools. Spread over four locations in London, students study at either The Cavendish, Regent, Marylebone or Harrow campuses depending on their chosen subject area.

College of Design, Creative and Digital Industries

This college aims to prepare students for an exciting future in a rapidly changing world by fostering creativity and giving students the skills to develop and manipulate the latest technological advances. This college includes the award-winning School of Architecture and Cities and the Westminster School of Arts offering popular courses in film, fashion, art and design. The college also offers courses in computer science, network engineering and digital media.

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

This college offers courses in humanities including the opportunity to study TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) either online or on-campus, Specialised Translation MA and Translation and Interpreting MA. Students will also find courses in criminology, politics, psychology and international relations. Students can study biomedical sciences in state-of-the-art laboratories. This college is also home to the Westminster School of Law, which adopts a practical approach to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, where students are encouraged to participate in real client cases at the Student Law Clinic.

Westminster Business School

Located at the university's central London Marylebone campus, students benefit from the Westminster Business School's strong industry links through placement and internship opportunities. The college offers highly regarded courses, which enjoy national and international accreditation by professional bodies including accounting and finance, business management, economics, international marketing, marketing communications and construction management.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

Language requirements

International students whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English. The university recognises a wide range of qualifications including IELTS, Pearson PTE, Cambridge, TOEFL and Password English Skills as well as the English component in some high school qualifications.

Students applying for an undergraduate programme at the university would need to have an overall score of IELTS 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component (or equivalent). Students joining a postgraduate programme at the university would need to have an overall score of IELTS 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component (or equivalent). Minimum grading requirements may vary depending on the course, so students should visit the course pages for details.

Pathway Courses

The University of Westminster works in partnership with Kaplan International to provide university preparation courses for international students who do not currently meet the entry requirements for bachelor's or master's degree programmes at Westminster. The university also has agreements with a number of other providers whose foundation and pre-master's courses offer entry to Westminster degrees.

Each library houses a wide-ranging collection of books, journals, DVDs and other specialist materials. The e-library service provides students with access to online books, journals and other materials. Students can also use study spaces within the libraries.

Sports facilities

Students can use the excellent sports facilities and services offered by the university gyms in central London and Harrow, which include fitness assessments, personal training and exercise programmes. Students interested in field sports such as football, rugby, hockey, lacrosse, cricket, tennis and netball can use the extensive grounds in Chiswick.
