Canada Eases Restrictions for International Travellers

International travelers who meet the requirements of Canada’s Fully Vaccinated Exemption program may now travel to Canada! If you’re unsure whether you meet the requirements or not, here’s a guide below:

  • Must be permitted by the Canadian government to enter the country on your specified arrival date
  • Should not have any symptoms of COVID-19
  • Must be fully vaccinated by a recognized COVID-19 vaccine
  • Last dose must have been received at least 14 days before your arrival
  • Must download and upload proof of vaccination in the ArriveCan app
  • Upload proof of vaccination in the ArriveCan app

As per the Canadian government, here is the list of recognized vaccines:

  • Pfizer
  • Moderna
  • AstraZeneca
  • Janssen/Johnson&Johnson
  • Bharat Biotech
  • Sinopharm BIBP
  • Novavax
  • Medicargo Covifenz

Additionally, travelers do not need to undergo pre-entry tests as long as they are fully vaccinated. However, they must still access the ArriveCan app within 72 hours of arriving in the country. It is also important to note that unlike the US, wearing a mask in Canada is still highly encouraged especially in indoor areas. Furthermore, travelers can be at ease since 85% of the Canadian population has received at least the first dose of the vaccine while 81% have been fully vaccinated!
