Entry requirements

Entry requirements

Undergraduate

The university recognises a wide range of international qualifications. Some degrees require prior study of particular subjects, especially within the sciences, engineering and languages. All students must also demonstrate suitable proficiency in English language. Students who do not meet the required academic requirements for direct entry may want to consider one of the foundation year options.

Postgraduate

For the taught master's programmes, students will normally be required to have obtained a first-degree equivalent to a 2:1 degree in the UK. Alternative experience, such as professional work or other forms of study, will be considered for some programmes but entry is not guaranteed. Again, students will need to meet the minimum requirements for English language.

Research

The university normally requires students to hold a first-class or second-class honours degree, or equivalent qualification, in a subject relevant to their proposed field of research. Students must also meet the university's English language requirements.
